Restart TDMS table portion

Hello All

I am using TDMS 4.0, time slice scenario to copy prod data to dev system. In the data transfer phase a table IBINVALUES is divided into 7106 portion where 4 portion are into error. These error are because of time_out dump in reciever system. I have taken care of this problem but my doubt is if I will restart the data transfer of this table again then would it copy all the portion or the 4 portion that comes into error?

I have search over the SDN and SAP note but i think this is not mentioned anywhere so I though if I can help from experience member.

Appreciate any comment on this.

regards

rishab

Hi Rishab,

When you re-execute the step, it will automatically re-execute the remaining portions only, provided there is no inconsistency in state management.

Mostly, since you have had an issue with time-out (hope you have extended the rdisp/wp_max_runtime parameter), there should not be any state inconsistency in your package.

Please try re-executing the step and if you get duplicate key error, try the option suggested by Manas above.

Thanks,

Hi Vinit,

In your TDMS system run t-code CNVMBTMON, select the package and go to troubleshooting.

Select the option change write behavior

The failed object should appear here. You can then change the write behavior.

Make sure you don't change the Global Write Behavior.

Thanks,

Manas

Hello Vinit ,

If you restart the data transfer it will transfer the remaining portions only , although sometimes it does fails with duplicate entry error , so you can just change the write behavior  for that particular table to modify and re-execute .

Hope it helps you.
