Input Controls in webi only applies to one query at a time

Dear all,

I want a global filter for date in my webi report which could filter all my queries/charts. I tried creating a variable where I could fetch my months which are less than current date. Now I have more than one chart to get filtered by this date.

I tried by creating a new query and adding that object from another query to rest. But that option is disabled for picking object from another query is found disabled. I am using a relational universe (.unx)

Also, I want my current month to be populated as default in the input control.

Creating Input Control for each query is not correct. So can anyone suggest  how can I achieve this? Please help me

Regards

Archana

Did you try to merge the dimension from multiple queries and then create the input control filter on the merged dimension ?

Dear Arijit,

I use webi thin client .I cannot find any option to merger dimensions apart from the settings in document properties. I tried filtering the query item from another query which is disabled.

Hello Archana,

Like above said by Arijit did you merged the dimensions for all the queries that you want to get affected by your input Control.

Also please make sure that when you created the input control you have selected all the blocks that you want to be impacted by the selected input control. Because like you said you have more than one charts then all of them are treated as separate blocks/entity so you need to make sure you have selected all of them which you want to be impacted.
