Hello,
Please need help. We set retro active accounting for payroll area from 01.04.2015 and when we run payroll for list of employees it is picking employees payroll data till from the date of hiring. Actually salary was processed till 30.06.2015 without any errors, when we run now, it start showing error and picking data till from beginning. We deleted and re-created payroll area with retro from 01.04.2015 but still have same issue. Then we changed MD change date effective from 01.04.2015 in payroll status infotype then it is working fine.
Now we need to understand even though we set retro as 01.04.2015 in payroll area why it is picking data for employee from hiring date. Please through some light on this issue.
Hi Naresh,
I suppose you have gone live with Payroll effective 01.04.2015.
Following activities may have been done for data upload.
(a) Master records Hiring , basic etc would have been uploaded
with Payroll area (X).
Payroll area (x) at this point would not have been set to
earliest retro accounting date of 01.04.2015 to carry out data upload
without any restrictions.
(b) After the final data upload was done .
Payroll area (X) would have been deleted and recreated with
earliest retro accounting date of 01.04.2015.
(c) In such cases the system shall consider the earliest date of first step
for running the payroll rather then 01.04.2015.
You can adopt an approach of setting the master records prior to
go live date with - NON ACCOUNTABLE PAYROLL AREA (99) till 31.03.2015 .
Payroll Area (X) to be assigned to employee only from 01.04.2015.
NON ACCOUNTABLE PAYROLL AREA (99) for which payroll is not run.
With this payroll would always from run 01.04.2015 onward only and
users does have a flexibility of changing backdated historical PA records prior to 01.04.2015 without any restrictions of payroll area check.

Hello,
Plz check IT3, what dates are being maintained and also share this.

Can you provide image of control record and employee joining date for better understanding.
Usually system considers control record ERA date and Hiring date, In case hiring date is later than ERA then picks the Hiring date else it considers ERA date.
