How do I globally modify the number formatting in Crystal Reports to NOT use the default which is “System Default Number Format”? The goal is to modify the number formatting to NOT contain commas. This modification should be global and should apply to any local account that will launch and use Crystal Reports on the server where it is installed. Can anyone help?
Hi Ivy,
A quick fix, if you wish to inherit the change on existing reports as well, would be to change the Number Formatting under 'Language and Regional Settings'. The formatting applied here will work as long as the reports continue to use the 'System Default Number Format'.

Hi Abhilash,
Thanks for the recommendations. We have actually done this. I think what you are suggesting is to change the OS configuration in Control Panel and set the number formatting under the 'Language and Regional Settings." We've actually tried to do this as the main local Administrator in the OS. But the change would not "stick". I think it needs a server restart to take effect.
How about making this change only in Crystal Reports. Can this be possible without changing the OS setting?
Thank you,
Ivy
Hi,
I don't think the existing/already developed reports can be changed dynamically like that.
But for new reports, you can do that as below:
You can set the default format for number using Options by navigating in the path "File --> Options -> Fields --> Number" and clicking on Number tab and selecting required format.
Thanks,
Raghavendra
