Hi Guys,
Off late facing this strange issue in our R3 system during mass printing. Whenever some users are trying mass printing they are getting error of "maximum sessions reached" with few prints.
Printers are configured with 'E' - Method
Process requests sequentially is ticked
SAP is on Linux env and print gets forwarded through LRS.
Further not all printer has the same probs.
Any help guys? Quite stuck in this.
Dear Avishek,
Unfortunately this didn't helped as what I have asked is different from what that link is for.
My issue relates with mass printing where users are getting this prompt when printing more than 5-6 prints.
However as of now I have managed to solve it by using the below option..
On Printer 'Output Attributes' -> Tick the Process requests seqnentially &
in Copy Counter -> choose "Pass Copies as separate Output requests(In SAP system)"
The note mentioned by S Sriram was relevant but not applicable in my client's env.. so as of now I am using this workaround.
Still feel there has to be something as this one will create heaps of spool and might create bottleneck - reaching the max spool limit.
Thanks,
TD

Ok. If I can understand correctly you say that this issue is only there with certain printers. In this case, would it be possible to replicate the same on the "working correctly" printers which has the same settings? If the issue doesn't appear in them then probably you can apply the same settings of those printers in the erroneous printers.
On the other note, its great to hear the workaround! I don't feel heaps of spools will be a problem. You can overcome this by increasing the spool number ranges and increasing the frequency of spool reorg jobs.
Hi,
Just share you some thought .
When you run sap in dialog it allows you to use 6 parallel session. If you try to open it further then it says maximum session reached. But this hsould be valid for dialog processes only.
Recently found one note where the issue was described that the program is taking in consideration the background process also and user were not able to run the report in background.
Can check is sap spool process is also considering the same thing.
But i think that this issue can be only when you create 6 parallel printing .
