Why do any links that are provided in answer to a question lead to nothing please?

Hi

When clicking on any link to an answer to a question I either get constant requests for username and password, or as screenshot below I get the menus on the left hand side but the main section with the answer never appears. I just get the 3 cirles which imply its loading but it never comes up.
