What format will the EDI data will be?

Hello Team,

I got to know that edi data will always be in plain text format,

To clarify this, I have a below query

Please assume I have 810 invoice edi data(as given in below site) coming to CPI

https://www.astera.com/type/edi-transaction-set/edi-810-invoice/

What will be the file format of this EDI , whether it will be .txt or .x12

Please confirm
