How works the creation of an edocument?

What is the trigger?

Backround:

We tried to install in a S/4 HANA 2020 On-Premise System the way for create an edocument (invoice).

We followed the guideline, but we were not succesfull.

We read, that the edocument could be created within the cockpit and in an other documentation there is written, that the edocument will be created directly after the creation of the invoice.

But what do we have to do now?

I made the following Customizing Settings for eDocuments:

I create an invoice (after order and shipment creation) and create a PDF File out of the invoice.

But i am not able to create or see any eDocumetns in the eDocument Cockpit (edoc_cockpit).

The way of transmission of the generated eDocument is irrelevant at the moment, we only want to be able to generate eDocuments out of the source document.

What is our mistake?

Hi Nicolas,

The two questions in the beginning of the post were not the best way to start the thread, but the SAP community IS the space to discuss technical questions about certain SAP solutions.

If the document is not getting created I'd recommend to debug the process of saving it and checking if the CL_EDOCUMENT class and look for the method that creates the edocument.

For the process specific steps you'll have a CL_EDOCUMENT_**** country class with the specific method implementations. My suggestion is to start with IS_RELEVANT method from the country class.

If you're a consultant for a partner there are very good materials in Learning Hub and PArtner Edge portal about the architecture of eDocument.

thank you for your post. The SAP Community is not a replacement tool for OSS or NOW, so the platform is not intended as a technical help site replacing tickets. Have you opened a ticket?

The creation of the legal XML file ("eDocument") requires the Document Compliance license - do you or your customer have the product licensed? Please check with the responsible Account Team.
