Temporal Join in HANA Analytic View (with Star Join) - Error

Greetings! I'm using BW-on-HANA 7.5 SP7 (HANA 1.0 SP12). This is a question/issue about creating a TEMPORAL JOIN on Transaction Data (Fact Table) and Time Dependent Master Data.

I realize I cannot (at this time) create this scenario with a HANA CALC VIEW...so I'm doing it with an Analytic View that contains a STAR JOIN. In BW, I created an External HANA View on my Transaction Data (BW Stats Cube 0TCT_C01) and on my Time Dependent Master Data (0EMPLOYEE).

In HANA, I created an Analytic View that contains the External HANA View for 0TCT_C01 in the DATA FOUNDATION. In the STAR JOIN I brought in the Attribute View for 0EMPLOYEE. The JOIN was initially setup on the field 0USERNAME - that we have placed in both 0TCT_C01 and 0EMPLOYEE. It was setup as an LEFT OUTER JOIN with a Cardinality of n:1. Everything Checked and Activated successfully.

My next step was to turn the JOIN into a TEMPORAL JOIN. In the External HANA View for 0EMPLOYEE, I made the fields DATETO and DATEFROM viewable (placing them in the Output Tab). I went into the STAR JOIN box and changed the JOIN to an INNER JOIN...and like "magic" the Temporal Properties boxes became accessible. I chose 0CALDAY as my Temporal Column (from the Transaction Data)...and DATEFROM / DATETO (from the Master Data) as the From Column / To Column. Temporal Condition was set to "Include Both" (screen shot below):

After reading a bunch of post on this topic...I thought I had it figured out. Wrong. Now, I get an error when I perform a Check (or Activate) that I cannot figure out - it seems to indicate I have an issue with 0CALDAY (my Temporal Column) that I chose from the Transaction Data within the DATA FOUNDATION.

I only see 0CALDAY in the Data Foundation in one place...so I'm not sure why its indicating different physical tables.

I've read a lot of posts...and performed a lot of searching on the internet...but I've not been able to figure what the error message is indicating that I've configured incorrectly...and how to resolve the issue.

The business problem I'm trying to solve seems pretty simple and straight forward - Transaction Data joined to Time Dependent Master Data via a Temporal Join. If you have had this error message before and/or know how I can solve my problem then I would greatly appreciate any input / advice.

Thanks,

Scott
