Tabs in SAP GUI 760

Is there a way to have new GUI windows displayed as tabs, like in past versions, rather than as a whole new window pop up? I have tried looking through the menu options but it doesnt appear to be an option anymore.

Thank you for visiting SAP Community to get answers to your questions. Since you're asking a question here for the first time, I recommend that you familiarize yourself with Community Q&A , as it provides tips for preparing questions that draw responses from our members.

For example, you can:

- outline what steps you took to find answers (and why they weren't helpful)

- share screenshots of what you've seen/done

- make sure you've applied the appropriate tags

- use a more descriptive subject line.

The more details you provide, the more likely it is that members will be able to respond. Feel free to also take our Q&A tutorial Q&A tutorial

Do you mean the same as we have in SAP Business Client? I don't remember having seen anything like Tabs in SAP GUI for Windows.

HI Sandra, yes sorry I was referring to the Tabs in the business client. My organization recently changed to the GUI 760 from the business client ( will admit I didnt realise there was a difference I thought it was just a newer version). Im assuming from your answer that there isnt a way to have tabs in the GUI 760 then?

Hello Rob,

SAP GUI for Windows as a standalone application never offered tabs. If you create a new window (for example via /o) you will always get an extra window. It has always been like this and will stay like this.
The functionality that you refer to has been implemented in SAP Business Client since many years. All you need to do is to use the embedding of SAP GUI for Windows inside SAP Business Client. And of course this is absolutely possible with SAP GUI for Windows 7.60 or SAP GUI for Windows 7.70. You just need to use the suitable SAP Business Client release and you will get the SAP GUI windows as tabs in SAP Business Client.

Thanks a lot for the concise answer Frank, this makes a lot of sense. Our organization recently changed from business client to GUI760 but I don't think my corporate IT department would be willing to implement this fix for me just because I miss the tabs feature.
