SAP system Installation on Oracle database with SWPM in unattended mode

Hello Guys,

I am trying to perform a silent SAP install on Oracle DB.

Per OSS note 2506859, have tried updating redo logs in input file to get created under +OLOG/+RECO ASM diskgroups.

However, the installation still creates the online redo logs under +DATA which is the default ASM diskgroup.

# Oracle mirrlog drive.

ora.mirrlogDrive =

# Oracle origlog drive. ora.origlogDrive =

Has anyone come across this error before?

Hi Ankit,

The silent install depresses any communication. Therefore we recommend this option mostly if the standard settings are accepted by our customers. James is right, if despite the settings from the mentioned SAP note the values are not taken, then the issue must be analyzed.

If there is no special special reason to use silent, then I would suggest not to use it. The reason is simple, there are not many customer using this way to install SAP, thus less problems reported, less developed on this way....

many experienced colleagues changes control.xml manually, however I never did it. Let us hear some input from other folks,
otherwise you have to reach SAP support -(
