SAP NetWeaver RFC SDK 7.50 -- Patch Level 6 for AS/400?

Hello,

we are using SAP NetWeaver SDK on Windows, Linux and IBM i (iSeries, AS/400). The current patch level 6 is not available for AS/400. Normally we want to use the same patch level on Windows, Linux and AS/400.

Does anyone know when the AS/400 patch level 6 will be available? If not how can I download Patch level 5 for Windows and Linux? In Archive-Downloads there are only files for older Netweaver version (7.20 and older).

Hello Matthias,

SAP decided not to release SAP NW RFC SDK 7.50 patch level 6 for IBM i because several issues were found during internal tests that could not be resolved in a timely manner. We are currently working on these issues and will provide a solution along with patch level 7. Unfortunately we cannot give you an availability date for patch level 7 today.

As you wrote, SAP is only providing the most current patch level in the SAP Software Distribution Center, and there is no way to get the patch level 5 for Linux or Windows. However, as long as you do not use one of the new functions with patch level 6 (such as WebSocket RFC, see SAP Note 2840214 for details), it should be acceptable to use patch level 5 for IBM i in parallel with patch level 6 for Linux and Windows. If you encounter problems in that environment, please open an incident for component BC-OP-AS4 so that we can look at the issue and try to find a solution.

Hi Matthias.

You have to ask SAP by raising the support ticket, for anything on IBM i OS400 it will be below low priority. i thing you may get the latest patch within span of three months time.
