SAP Hana Automatic filesystem fallback for backint-based log backups

Hello Team,
This is regarding SAP Hana Automatic filesystem fallback for backint-based log backups,
We are using Commvault as backint vendor where we have pointed out log backup with a frequency 15 mins.

[...] we are trying to opt out for this "SAP PERSON_NAME Automatic filesystem fallback for backint-based log backups" option by enabling the parameters.

We have following doubts before we enable it ;

1)Once the external storage is available all the logs written to FILE during the fallback will be written again to the third-party storage automatically?
If not the ones that were saved locally will stay the local storage?

Hi, there is no correlation between RTO and log or catalog backups stored on mixed locations.

1. Log and backup catalog backups that are written to a local file system during a fallback scenario are not automatically transferred to a third-party backint tool once it becomes available. These backups remain stored locally where they were initially saved. This is due to the system's design, which does not include an automatic transfer function for backups from the local file system to the backint tool when the latter becomes available.
2. If the log and backup catalog backups were saved locally during a period when a backint tool was unavailable, they will continue to reside in the local storage even when the backint tool becomes available. The system does not automatically move these logs to the external storage.

But still, I have a concern that how do we specify multiple backup locations while doing PIT recoveries. Could you please confirm.,?

How can we achieve "point in time recovery " with this option ?

HANA DB doesn't provide such functionality as moving the already existing backups to the backint tool. Please consult with the backint tool vendor to clarify if they provide such functionalilty.

There is no limitation for PIT recoveries to have the log backups reside either on the file system or in the backint tool only. Mixed locations can be used for a PIT recovery.
