SAP Analytics Cloud - Bandwidth requirements for data acquisition

giulia-felappi

Hi everyone,

we implemented the scenario of Data Acquisition between SAP Analytics Cloud and on-premise BO Universes through Cloud Connector and Analytics Cloud Agent.

This is already in place as a test scenario. But our customer was wondering about network bandwidth requirements for data retrival.
In SAC documentation we found out network bandwidth requirements only regarding Client Configuration (see System Requirements and Technical Prerequisites-Client Configuration Requirements)

Is there a way to monitor data retrival requests from Tomcat/HCC/HCP/SAC or some other tool? Is there documentation?

Thanks

Hi,

If you are using "import data" workflow, then latency or bandwidth restrictions in the 'bulk' data transfer won't really impact the "user experience" at the point of dashboard consumption. Those data loads are more less invisible to the end-user, because your model is being loaded/refreshed with new rows at a "scheduled refresh interval" with a frequency of every x hours.. therefore it's not a "Real-time / Live / Online" connection, where these things (responsiveness) matter very much .

I haven't seen any tips exactly for what you ask for, but perhaps this Note Troubleshooting performance issues in SAP Analytics Cloud - KBA 2511489 is a good start.

and also for your specific connection :How to Trace SAP Analytics Cloud connecting to on-premise data Link: https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2630653

Kind regards,
H

henry.banks , I have a follow up question. We are planning to setup live connection to on premise HANA from SAC. I read there will be 2 different ways of setting up live connection. Path or Direct.

If we choose Path, reverse proxy,- will this add any additional latency in accessing the data. Or if we choose to use Direct path. Which one is optimal solution for avoid latency?

Does the SAC deployment matters if it is deployed in SAP data center or non-SAP data center? What are the bootle necks we need to consider live connection?
