Hi Experts,
We are doing first time SAC transport to production system, and have a question.
Our story in test system is created on Hana live model based on calculation views. While doing the transport what is the best way to move the connection?
1) Using Content Network storage, move only the Story and the model to prod, then manually create a new live connection to production backend and edit the model to 'change datasource' to this connection?
2) OR transport the connection also from test system to Prod, and the edit this connection to point to the production backend system? - Not sure if this will work, as we didn't try it yet.
Please provide your inputs.
HI sarathms1,
The best practice (and the only option that works) is to do it like number 2. So transport the connection, and edit the connection details. The only thing you need to take into consideration is that you don't import this connection when doing transport. This will overwrite the connection details.
Oh..and you should have created the connection with a name like 'HANA'. Don't add a system reference to it since you are using the same connection name in multiple tenants pointing to different systems.
Kind regards,

Thank you foekenm . Got it.
Good point. I should have named the connection without a system reference.
One change I tried after my last day update was, manually create another connection in Prod (with name QASHANA) to use it as a dummy connection. After that it allowed me to edit the model, by changing the datasource to the new Prod connection (PRODHANA). But it means that I changed a model directly in Prod.
But I think your suggestion is the best choice.
Thank you
