Hello,
i need to install a S4HANA for our developers.
Actually i have a old HP ProLiant DL160 Gen8 that i could use for this.
Unfortunatly the used CPUs (Xeon E5-2640 / Sandy Bridge EP) ist one generation older then the oldest supported CPU in the (non-productive) hardware list of HANA.
I have searched already for this topic, but found no info if this combination works at all or not.
Does anybody know if this works at all? Are there any good reason why not to use it?
I#m just on my way to order additional 128GB of RAM (together 192GB) and i don't want to buy that stuff for a unusable use-case 😉
Just to be clear. This should be not much more then a playground for our developers. This is no-production use case and we, at all, don't have much test-date that those machine should process.
