Name Column Headers in Design Studio UI5 Table SDK component

I am using the Design Studio SDK UI5 Table to display data from a (universe) data-source, but the only control I have over the column header names is to use, either the text or the key, of the dimensions from the data-source.

Is there a way to manually set the name the columns, similar to what is found in the BYO Datasource?

We are using Design Studio 1.6 SP02 Patch 1 (16.2.2) and a recent SDK build (3.0.0.201610191048).

Is there really no way to do this? It seems like a very basic feature for any reporting tool...
