DBCON entry does not exist for CCMS_DB2_

In SAP Collector Settings when I "Check Status" for "Alert Router" I get this message:

  • "DBCON entry does not exist for CCMS_DB2_<sid>"

When I attempt to add CCMS_DB2_<sid> entry I get this message:

  • Password invalid (choose another password)

My understanding is that for CCMS entries all we need to define are SSID,Collection Id, Schema, Database Name, Port Number & IP Address|Host

Why am I being prompted for a Password when I haven't specified a User Name?

Regards
Bruce

There appears to be a FUDGE in order to add CCMS entries

  1. N.B. This cannot be done from the DBA Cockpit
  2. Use to TCode DBCO to access "Database Connections Overview"
  3. Use <F5> (or click "New Entries")
  4. Fill in details as per your site standards without "User Name" and "DB Password"
  5. N.B. FUDGE Part 1: DO NOT SAVE AT THIS POINT!!!
  6. Use <F3> (or click "Back") to exit
  7. N.B. FUDGE Part 2: On the "Exit Maintenance" dialogue click "Yes" to save changes

Voila … you've successfully added a Database Connections without any validation by SAP
