Business Function (Set) Activation (SFW5) - Logistic

Hello Experts,

I am looking for confirmation on the following approach for business function, extension, industry switch activation:

1. Activate as desired on the Development system taking care of any dependency through SFW5

2. Capture the activation in a transport request

3. Import the transport request on further systems in the landscape.

I need confirmation whether activation dependencies are being taken care on other/non-development systems in the landscape where the activation is done by importing the transport request unlike manual activation on development.

Further to this if DIMP_SDUD exist among activated switch, business functions, extensions on the development system then are there any special consideration ? like

1. activating DIMP_SDUD beforehand by manual activation means or transport created on development after activating DIMP_SDUD only and nothing else and then activating remaining business functions, extensions on development, capturing them in new transport request.

1. activating only DIMP_SDUD on development, capturing it in a transport request TR1

2. then activating other required business functions, extensions and capturing them in a new transport TR2

3. Importing TR1 and TR2 in respective order on further systems in the landscape

So basically my query revolves around SFW5 activation whether manually or by transport means but answer to above elaborated scenario will be much appreciated.

Dear Kashyap,

Business function activiation never create transport request it is a manual procedure which need to be taken care on all the SAP systems manually present in landscape.

Anil, I understand the activation does not create any transport automatically.

Though you can navigate through menu: System Settings --> Transport under SFW5 transaction and generate activation transport.
