Hello Experts,

We are upgrading S/4 HANA 2020 to 2023, we have already initiated the SUM tool and we are at the SPDD phase where we can see below SPDD objects in Deletion tab.

spdd-deletion-objects.txt

I found the below note but it says "before starting regular upgrade" does it means i have to reset the complete upgrade or just perform the steps in the shadow instance?

2402191 - Ariba Cloud Integration objects are deleted during upgrade to S/4 HANA or ECC system

I did raised an incident for this with SAP but did not received any response as they mentioned this is consulting issue.

Thanks,

Jadhav

Hello ASISODIA,

like SUM said in your screenshot you need to adjust the 93modified objects on the SHADOW Instance! Release the task on the shadow instance but not the transport request!

Furthermore for the 1309 mentioned ARIBA objects --> therefor SUM say's --> this objects will be passively deleted.

Like your SAPNote also mentiones

2402191 - Ariba Cloud Integration objects are deleted during upgrade to S/4 HANA or ECC system

Due to the assignments in the object catalog, the Software Update Manager deletes the Ariba objects during the upgrade procedure

Therefore you should run the mentioned steps in the sapnote before you build the shadowinstance

Before you start the regular upgrade procedure, carry out the below steps.

  1. Use the attached source code and create a report program ZUPDATE_TADIR.
  2. When the report is executed in test mode, you will get the number of objects to be updated in TADIR. When you uncheck the test mode checkbox, the object catalog entries will get updated in TADIR.
  3. Start your regular upgrade procedure.
  4. After the upgrade procedure is finished, use the attached source code and create a report program ZUPDATE_TADIR_AFTERUPGRADE.
  5. Execute the ZUPDATE_TADIR_AFTERUPGRADE report.

If you build up the shadow instance, i would delete the shadowinstance, then do the steps which are mentioned in your sapnote for ariba and after that you can build the shadow instance again. After Update run the steps from your sapnote (point 4 and 5)

Best Regards
