portal transaciton iview showing home screen of ECC

Hi ALL,

I have created an SAP transaciton iview to a custom transaction. when i preview the iview, it is showing me the home screen instead of the actual transaction screen. but when i assign to the role, it is good. the reason i want it to work as in preview is that, i am planning to call this transaction iview from a microsoft portal as an URL without masthead and TLN. Could you please let me know the reason for this behaviour.. any SAP Notes etc..

I was reading the forums and there was a thread which addresses this issue, but it is for ITS standalone 6.20. The solution was to upgrade the patch level of ITS. but the ITS i am using is an integrated ITS of ECC 5.0

any suggestions would be really helpful.

Hi,

The problem may be the preview.

Add this to role and preview from portal content by navigating to the iview in role.

Try once from sap system administration-support-application server.

I think u need just url.

So copy the url from page ->open in a new window.

Thank you for your replies.

I am using SAP GUI for HTML, so the SAP GUI option is ruled out here.. nothing to do with the patch level of the SAP GUI.

I did assign it to a role and it works fine. Now in order to get the URL for this iview, I opened it in a new window, but unfortunately in the new window it shows the easy access screen instead of the actual transaction screen.

when you are previewing the iView could you please test with an extra parameter as ~transaction=TCODE? Replace TCODE with your transaction code which you want to execute. I know its not direct solution of your problem - but you might try it until you get the full reason.

Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately adding that parameter didnt work.

it is not a service. it is just a sap transaction iview using SAP GUI for HTML.

Here is the URL that i use for calling the iview directly.

http://<hostname>:<portnr>/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/pcd!3aportal_content!2fcom.mycomp.compname...

but it takes to me the home screen.

please help me. my understanding is that there shoud be some SAP NOTE for this. I tried searching on SMP, but in vain.

does the previewing user have a backend ID through User mapping or Logon ticket?

It is through logon ticket.. and it works fine for sure..becuase when i assing this iview to a role and click on that, it brings up the actual transaction screen..

Can you let me know the exact ITS parameters you have specified in ur portal system.

The ITS parameters that I set should be correct, otherwise the transaction wouldnt be shown when I assign it to a role. The only problem is when i am using preview/ open iview in new window from the context menu of the iview/ callign the iview directly using the NavigationURL.

Please let me know if i am wrong in understanding..

ITS parameters for the system created in portal:

hostname: portnr

protocol: http

Path: /sap/bc/gui/sap/its/

Any ideas please?

Hi ,

I think it is due to SAP GUI which you used for creating transaction iview.

If you used SAP GUI Windows , check the patchlevel
