Permissions to Customize LogViewer Layout in AS Java

Hi community,

we have created a "Checker" role for our support, but it doesn't allow them to customize the LogViewer layout:

The role has the following actions:

  • UME tc~esi~esp~ume Log_Configurator_DISPLAY
  • UME tc~esi~esp~ume LogConfigurator_DISPLAY
  • UME tc~lm~webadmin~permissions Logs_Display
  • UME tc~esi~esp~ume LogViewer_ALL
  • UME tc~esi~esp~ume LogViewer_DISPLAY
  • UME tc~lm~webadmin~permissions NWA_SUPERADMIN_ASJO
  • UME tc~lm~webadmin~permissions NWA_SUPERADMIN_JAV_SESSMGMT
  • UME tc~lm~webadmin~permissions NWA_SUPERADMIN_JAVASTAT
  • UME tc~lm~webadmin~permissions NWA_SUPERADMIN_JSR
  • UME tc~lm~webadmin~permissions NWA_SUPERADMIN_LOGV
  • UME tc~lm~webadmin~permissions NWA_SUPERADMIN_THREADDUMP

Do you know which permissions is missing? Our Admins are able to customize the layout, but the support users with NWA_SUPERADMIN_LOGV not.

Thanks!

Isa

As an update (and complaint), we requested for help via Expert Chat. They were unable to help us and raised an incident. As per their input we should have granted the role SAP_JAVA_NWADMIN_LOGVIEWER_ONLY or the action NWA_SUPERADMIN_LOGV. We explained, again, that we had tried both and neither of them have worked out.

The ticket has been closed as they cannot help. In the help page "Customizing Log Viewer Layout" for the NetWeaver there is neither useful information regarding the permissions need to customize the layout.

We checked which configurations are modified when we (NW SuperAdmins) modify the layout. Entries like the following one are modified every time we make a change in our layout:

Configuration [cluster_config/system/custom_global/cfg/apps/sap.com/tc~lm~itsam~ui~lv~client_ui/appcfg/conf] with CID [<number>]: Modified

Those configurations are directly related with the LogViewer layout. It's quite weird that a SUPERADMIN for LogViewer is unable to modify it's own layouts in LogViewer nor save it's own Views. The permissions shine with the title SUPERADMIN, but they're super limited.
