PCOE: Obligation to send EWA from VAR's SolMan system

Hello,

for a long time I have had endless discussions with colleagues. Many customers, and even more, do not have a Solution Manager. Some, for whom we are VARs (obviously we are PCOE certified), incessantly ask us to generate EWA reports for them from our Solution Manager and send them by email. Technically this is feasible, but as a VAR, am I obliged to do it? Is it in the terms of the PCOE? I have no memory of this, I only remember that for 85% of customers there must be an EWA report but it is not mandatory that the VAR is responsible for it.

Yes, as a VAR Parnter we are obliged to do so. Either you get it done on Customers Solman or on own(VAR Partners) Solman. Both scenarios are well explained in "Partner Center of Expertise Setup Guide".

Following text may help you further:

VAR Partners are required to activate this functionality for all productive installations of its customer base. The collected data can then be transferred to the VAR Partner’s SAP Solution Manager. It is always preferred that customers run their own SAP Solution Manager system and transfers this data therein but a close alternative is for customers to transfer data into the VAR’s SAP Solution Manager system if they have none of their own. VARs should review the SAP EarlyWatch® Alert reports of their customers at least four times a year. Any SAP EarlyWatch® Alert report that receives a critical (red) rating overall should be referred to SAP for further action. To activate the SAP EarlyWatch® Alert, simply follow the instructions given in the Best Practice: Activating SAP EarlyWatch® Alert in End Customer's System. You can also use the SAP Online Help on SAP Solution Manager (http://help.sap.com/solutionmanager71 → Application Help → Application Operations → Technical Reporting → SAP EarlyWatch® Alert).
