Multiple Data Sources to Single DataTarget

i experts,

I just need some clarification about Infocubes that are updated from many sources.

lets take an example: InfoCube: 0SD_C05 Offers/Orders. this Infocube is updated from these sources: 2LIS_11_VAITM, 2LIS_11_VAHDR and 2LIS_01_S264.

In the transformations for these data sources, not all neither the same characteristic are mapped in the two transformations:

So, as you can see in the two standard transformations, they dont mapp all the InfoCube characteristic, for example: Division isn't mapped in the second transformation. Therefore: we can say that not all InfoCube KPIs are analysable on all InfoCube dimension!! Correct me if I m missing something.

-----> Data Targets (Cube,DSO,InfoObject) loads data one after another.

My Doubts are:

1. Is it advisable to load data to target from multiple data sources (Say Standard data flows)?

2. (If it is advisable) When I create any report on top of that target, can I get accurate results?

Hi,

Division is mapped from item (2lis_11_vaitm) data source, it is not mandate to map each field from each data source. Explore the cube data, you will understand how it is been updated.

1. Is it advisable to load data to target from multiple data sources (Say Standard data flows)?

Certainly yes! if you notice many standard cubes/DSO get updated from multiple data sources.. ex: 0sd_c05, gets fed by item level, header level data..

2. (If it is advisable) When I create any report on top of that target, can I get accurate results?

yes again! no need to worry about business content flows and queries, unless, there is a change in your business requirement and you enhanced the flow, you need to make sure to do the appropriate mappings.
