Masthead Customization in SAP portal 7.4( Changing LOGO)

Hello Experts,

I have a new requirement to change the current LOGO in homepage to a new one in SAP Portal 7.4. The current Masthead is a customized one but shows classic framework page. Below are my Queries

1) where exactly can I find the current masthead( Please mention the path)

2) Can we still use classic framework page instead of Ajax one in EP 7.4. Does it has any consequences in future?

3) I found the WAR file ,pulled it to NWDS 7.3 and made it error free with required JAR files. Once I make any changes, where should I deploy. I am new to this project and no one has any clue on SLD. May i know how to find out SLD server details from OS. Any clue would be very helpful.

Or is it like if I make any changes to the WAR and send it to BASIS , will the be able to deploy and then I can check the outcome in Portal.

Any answer is highly helpful. Please help.

Thanks and Regards,

Khyana .

Hello Khyana,

To answer your questions:

1) where exactly can I find the current masthead( Please mention the path)

Ans: Open your framework page and the Masthead iView inside it. Use the Delta Link tracer to locate the source object in PCD. The Location iView property will give you the full location.

2) Can we still use classic framework page instead of Ajax one in EP 7.4. Does it has any consequences in future?

Ans: The Classic FWP is quirks based, Now it would be recommended to move on to a Standards based Framework like Fiori or AJAX Standards FWPs.

Ans: You can deploy the .war from the Deployment perspective in NWDS, or else deploy the war to the engine using another method e.g: Telnet. You would need to locate the correct AS Java system from within SLD (or enter system details manually), then deploy using a user with permissions necessary to perform a deployment operation.

Best regards,
