JCoException: (103) JCO_ERROR_LOGON_FAILURE Name or password is incorrect (repeat logon)

Assuming that the user and password are correct, what are the possible reasons to end up having this error?

I'm asking this because we have been executing the same job using the same credentials (user + password) and everything was working fine. But then suddenly, we received this error even though we didn't make any changes to the user or password. After several failed attempts, the user was blocked and we had to contact SAP to unblock the user. After SAP unblocked the user, we relaunched the job again and it executed without errors.

What are the other possible causes to have this error other than the obvious one (having incorrect credentials)?

To help you with your scenario & also to avoid such issues, maybe you can think of using passwordless credentials for the User from next onwards

Hello James,

there could be various reasons. As the system will not provide really detailed reasons to the caller, you need to investigate on the backend side what the reason is. So, check the security logs for understanding the reason.
