Is there a way to connect My Inbox to Alert Notification service?

Hey, I have been looking for a way to connect SAP's Alert Notification Service (I'll abbreviate as ANS) to My Inbox. The goal is to send an automated message to Microsoft Teams channel or a chat possibly as well when a notification appears in My Inbox. In ANS I can configure it to connect to a Teams channel via a webhook, but I have not been able to connect it to a My Inbox that I have running in Build Work Zone, standard edition. I'm running this on a trial account. In ANS, there is a section titled "Referencing Apps", but I don't see any apps there and when I click "Bind Instance" button, it's empty as well. Is this section only for created HTML5 applications? Similarly if I try to create binding from the "Instances and Subscriptions" menu, I get informed that there are no application in this space.

Can anyone advice me is there currently a way to connect My Inbox to ANS or do I need to look more into other ways of sending the message over to Teams? I'm quite new to SAP so it's possible I have not done something correctly as well, so any advice on this matter is appreciated.

Hello Antti,

My Inbox is a client/front-end stateless application. As such it does not have any integration possible with ANS, because it doesn't keep any data, so that we can send some notification based on data changes.

My Inbox gets and display the data from a backend service - SAP Build Process Automation (Workflow Service) or S/4 HANA Task Gateway Service. It depends on what is the exact My Inbox setup in your use case. What can be checked here is if the backend service you are using supports integration with ANS.

My Inbox alone does not have such capability, because it does not have any data or state.

Best regards,

Yordan
