Hi there,
I and a colleague have tried to install SAP BusinessObjects 4.3 SP4 on new servers 3 times now, and each time the install fails - no SIA is created.
Tomcat is installed and runs ok, the SQL Anywhere databases for CMS and Audit are created and seemingly populated but the system does not run. Trying to create a new SIA node manually does not work either.
Has anyone else experienced these issues? If anyone else is interested I will paste the error log from the install to the replies.
thanks
Keith
Hello,
There is a new dependency on Visual Studio C++ 2015-2022 runtime in 4.3 SP04.
It's documented in the following KBA:
3414166 - New dependency on Microsoft Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable (x64) - SAP BusinessObjects BI Platform 4.3 SP04 on Windows
If this is a new installation, then I'd recommend installing the dependency, uninstalling 4.3 SP04, and then re-installing it.
Thank you,
Graham

Correction - it's the Visual C++ 2015-2022 Redistributable. Which can be downloaded from the microsoft website here:
https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/cpp/windows/latest-supported-vc-redist?view=msvc-170#visual-studio...
Hi Keith,
The plan (subject to change without prior notification here if testing doesn't go well) is that we will package that dependency directly within the installer from 4.3 SP04 Patch 100
Thanks,
Graham
installing the dependency and then re-installing sp4 has worked, thanks Graham
I have run the install as a local admin, Windows Defender was running but that has been running during previous SP installs and all was fine, I'll try again with it and UAC switched to windows only mode.
