Identify the causes of alert "Number of long running Dialog Work Processes"

Hi,

We have configured system monitoring and now we receive a lot of alerts from system monitoring.

Most of them is Not Enough Dialog Resources-->Number of long running Dialog Work Processes, for example:

In text value we can see that report SAPLHRTI * is running more than 300 s (more than threshold).

Can you help me, how can I identify which report/user run it? Link to alert doesn't show more. I tried to find via SM20, filter by report SAPLHRTI* but there is nothing.

Also I explored ST03n, but unsuccessfully.

I know there is easy way to change threshold to >1 and > 300s, but I need some grounds for that.

Also I've checked ST02 and ST06, there is OK state.

Thanks!

enable /SDF/MON to snapshot the workprocesses every minute. capture the issue and analyze the logs. thats the fast way.

Hi Daulet,

In the attached screenshot, I can see the work process number is 26. Can you check the work process in the respective instance for which alert has triggered? Also, you can check logs of the work process to investigate further (Ctrl+Shift+F8 is the shortcut).
