How to perform data manipulation with Master data text in Bex

Hi BW Experts,

I have a Info object 0MATERIAL, where Medium and Long description are maintained.

Sample data

MAT001__COSMETICS___SOAP DOVE .

Condition need to apply :

If Material Long description contains "SOAP" then display "SO" else EMPTY.

Please suggest, how to achieve this in Bex reporting.

Hello Jalina,

If your Long Text was an attribute of 0material and not the text, then you could work with a replacement path variable, returning the first two digits only ... but I guess for other descriptions you need a different logic?!

The easiest way is to open the query in BEx Analyzer of AfO and then create an additional column with an Excel =IF() formula...
