Hi

In BW DEV :

DataSource 0CO_OM_CCA_1 loaded No. of records are 16 millions.

And 0CO_OM_CCA_1 contains on tables COSP and COSS but total no. of records in both tables are 0.2 millions.

How to find estimated No. of records of DS 0CO_OM_CCA_1 load in BW Production?

Thanks

Hi Imran,

Dont go with just the entries in COSP and COSS because in these table values are not stored period wise. The value column in this table are representing individual periods of an year whereas 0CO_OM_CCA_1 has the period already derived in it.

For eg one entry in COSP will have 12 (period starting from 001 - 012) entries in 0CO_OM_CCA_1 for one value type alone. Also COSS, COPS can have value types like plan, actual , commitment.

Hi Gajesh

Correct me if I am understand wrong:

If COSP have 2 value type there is 2 entries in COSP so in 0CO_OM_CCA_1, it should be 24 entries.

similarly in COSS.

so formula for estimate No. of entries in BW PSA is:

Total no. of entries of COSS & COSP * 12 = No. of entries in BW PSA

Thanks

Hi Imran,

Dont know precisely whether its 12 or 16 ( as sometime there is period from 01 to 016). You can check loading one of data and check how many entries the extractor is bringing in.

Hi Gajesh

Let suppose periods are 12 so according to your explanation

0.2m*12=24million entries but actually 16million entries in PSA of BW DEV

Let suppose periods are 16

0.2m*16=32million entries but actually 16million entries in PSA of BW DEV

so, what is missing in your formula??

In ECC PRD we have 13million total entries in COSP & COSS so we need to estimated entries of PSA of BW PRD.

Thanks

Hi Imran,

Also note that COSP, COSS will hold different currency data so check for one cost element and period how much is the data in COSS/COSP vs the extractor. This will help you extrapolate the total records

no idea. Why can't you just run the infopackage in production?

ok, your talking about development system..; you should be more detailed in your post. Did the 16 million records in the PSA come from an extraction or maybe a system copy or so? maybe multiple extractions?

I mentioned it in 2nd line of my post "In BW DEV :"

16 million records are extracted in 1st Full load IP because the DS is not delta supported.

In ECC PRD combine lines of COSS & COSP are 13 million now when I run 1st Full load IP in BW PRD what is the estimated records are loaded in PSA??

check out this link http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70/helpdata/en/ae/8876724e671341a91ff3ba711bacd0/content.htm.

And 0.2 million lines in COSS and COSP seems very small to me. Depending on the size of the company, time sysem is in use, etc, you should rather have 10 of millions of lines...

combine lines of COSS & COSP are 0.2 million lines in ECC DEV and 16 millions lines in BW DEV PSA.
