Hi folks,
i am unable to create the user in user administration in portal due to the following error,
could you please help regarding this issue
"Current user has user creation permissions in the UME, but cannot create users in the back-end system (data source). The original and possibly untranslated message was: "No active writeable datasource found for user creation, check your Persistence Configuration.".
Hi All,
I am closing this thread as this is not in the correct forum. This should be opened in LDAP or UME. Please open the thread under the correct heading.

Hi,
Looks like the Java system where you are trying to create the user is connected to ABAP UME/ LDAP. To solve your issue, you need to set the template right. This can be done by either going to Config tool on the OS level, Secure store-> UME template configuration and select not read only...
In case of a portal system, goto System Administration-> System Configuration-> UME configuration.. Here select your LDAP source and give not read only.. Save the changes..

Hi,
Are you sure that you want to create the user by yourself or the BASIS team should do this for you. And you want to create roles for the user and assign these roles to the user. Please confirm.

Hi,
Go to User administration, then click on create user. Fill in the required details of the new user. Just to avoid the causes of any error, try filling only general information and save it. Once the user is created, you can assign roles to it. (This is not any standard process but it may avoid the causes of any possible error related to the roles from the back-end.)
Let me know, does it worked.

Nishant
