Fiori In-App Navigation Report

Hello,

We all understand the principle that a Target Mapping is the combination of an Intent with a navigation target (eg. UI5 Application). We also understand that a Tile will "call" a Target Mapping via the Intent.

Some Applications can "call" other Applications via Target Mapping (In-App Navigation). The Target Mapping for the called Application must be in the same catalog or a catalog assigned to the user.

Simple question. Where/how do I get a report that list to me which Target Mappings is related to a specific Navigation Target? In simple business words: If I have an App open and it contains links to other Apps, where do I get a report which indicates all the Target Mapping used for these links in the Application? List of Target Mappings used by an Application for In-App Navigation.

Why is this needed? To ensure we include all relevant Target Mapping in a Catalog.

@Jocelyn_Dart any ideas?

Hi Aggies,

Ok so firstly the statement below is unfortunately incorrect - it is NOT dependent on the catalog, it can be in any business catalog assigned to the user.

Spoiler
The Target Mapping for the called Application must be in the same catalog or a catalog assigned to the user.

There are essentially 2 ways the navigation by intent works:

  1. Static navigation to an explicit reference to a Semantic Object and action, e.g. Supplier-manage
  2. Dynamic navigation to any related app based on the Semantic Object alone, e.g. Supplier

    Apps reached by static navigation links should be listed on the Related Apps tab of the SAP Fiori apps library as "Navigation Target".  P.s. if you find a link is missing please report it to the support component of the calling app.

    Dynamic navigations are easy - you see them in Search results, via Related Apps buttons,  in list of links dialogs, etc.  They give you a list of links based on all apps assigned to that user with the same semantic object.

    You can find apps by Semantic Object and/or action in the Launchpad Content Manager (for all roles, in the Tiles and Target Mappings tab) and in the Launchpad Content Aggregator by business role (custom and SAP-delivered roles) .  You can also use the Intent Analysis tool to check the intents for a specific user.
