Determine approver by role

Is there a way to determine an approver by the assigned role in the project?

We would like to use the project leader to be the one receiving the billing documents to approve. The project leader can differ from the person who is maintaining the project in professional services.

Would it be possible to set the approver somewhere else?

Hello Daniel,

You can model business rules for Agent Determination in Cloud Platform and then modify your logic in custom business object or in ABAP code in your S/4HANA Cloud to call the business rules and get the approvers. You can follow my blog.

Which system are you using for creating workflow?

You create a custom workflow, or use BRF and in the determine agent part code the logic to read the data for approvers based on roles which you assign in SU01 transaction means all approvers would be getting the task

Or you could make separate roles for different departments

This is easily possible

sorry for not stating it. I´m using S/4HANA Cloud.

The problem with creating a custom Workflow is that you can not determine the approver by his role in the project, but by value or similar.

Do you know a way to do this ?
