Data not Loading in Dashboard in BI Launchpad (BW SSO Connection)

Hi,

I am trying to run a dashboard developed in Lumira Designer 2.3 but the dashboard opens without any data. it simply says data source not loaded. please see below image.

This problem has arisen after we implemented SAP SSO. The source is BW. previously we were using the parameter "predefined" in the OLAP connection and the dashboards were working fine. Now post SSO implementation i changed the OLAP connections to "SSO" and the dashboards have stopped functioning.

The surprising part is that the problem is only on BI Launchpad as when i try to run the dashboard from the Lumira designer tool with SSO, the dashboard opens with the data and functions as desired.

P.S. : this has impacted all the dashboards, Aslo i tried creating WEBI reports through launchpad with the same connection and the same queries being used in the dashboard and i am able to create them without any issues.

Awaiting expert inputs.

Thanks,

Aby

Hello Aby,

please check the following:

- Create a new Lumira Designer Report and use the SSO OLAP connection. Is it working?

If not you have to review your STS configuration. Did you upload the certificiate in CMC / Authentication / SAP and also into the BW system using strustsso2?
Which System ID and Client did you enter?

Best regards,

Mario

Hi everyone,

SAP BOBJ 4.2

SAP BW 7.5

SAP Lumira Dashboard 2.3

Same Dashboard, No New development, the dashboard is already live and utilizing except 1 User for very specific date, for your ease lets take an example that Current month data is not showing but previous month is being shown.

My Client is not able to see data from a specific date, as all the authorization, access all are same and have not been disturbed, even I could see the same data in the dashboard, but my client is not able to see data from very specific date. and he could also see the data easily from other periods.

Above discussed case is like me but no answer is helpful to me till now.

Hi,

I have not yet implemented the Note mentioned above. But today i was just testing the reports and i see that the copy report i had created, in that, the new component i have added is working but the old part which was designed previously is not working still. The old dashboards still continue to be not working and data is still not loading.

Just to add, i had created a new document previously with the same query and SSO, it still works without any issues.

I followed the steps as per your suggestion above.

Created a copy of the existing dashboard with the issue, checked whether it works or not, It did not work. Data did not load.

Set all the data sources Load in script as "true".

Created another Data source(used on of the existing queries in the dashboard). Set the data sources Load in script as "false".

Created a crosstab component using the newly added Data Source.

Saved the report.

Now here's the catch, when i open this newly saved dashboard i am getting the following error :

"Error: Requested RFC Function is not available. Reason: Parameter containing a user ID is missing: n [...]"

Attaching a screen grab of the same for your reference.

Aby

That doesn´t make sense to me at all.

Maybe you can try this: Open the lumira dashboard (that one´s not working) and set all data sources to load in script "true" and don´t load them at all.

Add another data source and insert a crosstab to visualize some data, based on the same OLAP SSO connection.

Is this working?

Yes, I had created the new Lumira Designer report based on SSO and executed it in BI Launchpad. It works fine, issue is with my dashboards which i had created prior to the SSO implementation.

Just to be sure: Did you create that new Lumira Designer report based on SSO and also executed it directly in BI Launchpad or only "Local Mode" within Lumira Designer?

Hi Mario,

I have checked the User ID which i used to create the Lumira dashboard in "BW" system, and it is working fine. The user is able to login to the BW system and access the BW queries used in the dashboard. I checked a few other user Id's as well (to get a larger sample) and they are also able to login and access the BW queries and are also able to login to BI Launchpad.

Regards,

Aby.

Hello Aby,

so if this is okay then your security token service for the OLAP SSO is working fine!

Please check your user you are using when signing in to the BI Launchpad. Is the user merged to a BW username? Check it in CMC / Users & Groups / Search for User / Context menu / properties.

Maybe the backend BW system doesn´t know the user, you are using for the BI launchpad?

Hi Mario,

As advised i created a new Lumira Designer document with SSO OLAP connection and tested it with a SSO user id and it works, Data is being displayed and the charts render as expected.

I just checked the old dashboards again post that and they come with no data.

Aby
