New installation of Crystal Reports 2020 SP1 on a server running Windows Server 2019 Standard. No error message on the install (as Admin). When I run (as Admin) crw64.exe i get message "crw64.exe System Error: The code execution cannot proceed because cslibu-3-0.dll not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this error". I've reinstalled the program several times, same message. How to fix? Thanks, Bob.

Hi Robert,

Check your AV and Firewall settings and logs, it could be one of those is blocking access.

Add crw64.exe to the Trusted list of applications.

If possible, disconnect your PC from the network and then disable your AV software and see if it runs then.

Sometimes IT gives you a modified Admin account, see if they can log in as a local PC Admin and run the install.

And look here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\InstallData\logs

Plus a time stamp when you installed and look in the log for any Errors.

Try browsing to here:

C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP BusinessObjects\SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise XI 4.0\win64_x64

look for crw64.exe and right click on it and select Run as Admin.

And does cslibu-3-0.dll exist in the above folder? If it doesn't likely your AV software has deleted it.

Often AV software does get CR reported and black listed, you need to add it back in.

The CR installer does complete but then the aV software removes the file afterwards.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Nothing in the AV (SentinelOne) logs.

It's a server install so I can't disconnect form network.

Ran crw64.exe as admin - same result.

cslibu-3-0.dll did not exist in that folder.

I uninstalled CR, disabled the AV, restarted the server, reinstalled CR as admin - and the program launched normally.

Restarted the server, created an exception for the program's path, re-enabled the AV and CR again ran normally. Thanks!
