Hello Experts,
I am at stage where the Archiving configuration has been established and is working wll. The only requirement is to read the data back from the Open Text. Below are a details:
The requirement is that a User should see an Archived document from the Open Text of the given BP under the "CHANGE HISTORY" option from the Menu Bar, from the Application page should be able to access/view this Archived data from the Open Text server directly back to the application page of the end User…
Eagerly awaiting your response.
Thanking You in advance.
Hitesh
SAP archives the change documents together with the application data and in this case the reference between your business document and the change document is available to allow access directly from the application
if you choose to archive change documents independently to the business data then the reference is broken and you have to use transaction SARE with an info structure (based on the field catalog SAP_CHANGEDOCU1) to display the archived change documents
see OSS note 1291342 - CD: Archiving change documents
and the hint in the yellow box in the docu:

Hello Jurgen,
Thank you for your quick reply. However, i had already activated the Info Object "SAP_CHANGEDOCU1" but found it to be not at all user friendly to the Business Users/End Users; who would be mostly looking for Change History data in their day-to-day activities.
None of the Input parameters could be found easily to help them in easily locating their Change History data from the Open Text server.
Thanking You,
Hitesh
exact. This all has to be taken into account when you do the decision if you archive change documents together with the business objects or independently.
Beside of that the right timing is important, If you archive to close to the current date then of course more people will have the need to look into the archive, if you archive for example only documents older than 2 years then there might only be an occasional case for checking the archive. So this could then be done by a key user only instead of all end users.
