CCMS alerts are in status "ACTION_REQUIRED" only

Hello Experts,

We have configured CCMS alerts.

Created local autoreaction method and assigned it in RZ20.

Now when alerts are generating, initially they will be in ACTION_REQUIRED status. Once dispatcher SAPMSSY8 runs (every 5 mins) autoreactions get trigered and status changes to ACTIVE. This is normal flow of CCMS alerts.

But in our case, alerts are getting generated, but they remain in status ACTION_REQUIRED and no autoreations are triggered. On other hand, if we trigger autoreaction manually (EDIT -> Nodes -> Start Method - > Start Auto-reaction Method), status changed to ACTIVE and we are getting email for same alert (As maintain in autoreaction).

As per all help.sap docs, SAPMSSY8 runs every 5 mins automatically.

So can any tell me how to check if this SAPMSSY8 is active in my system and running every 5 mins? (Like we can check background jobs in SM37).

Please note that this is local Auto-reaction method. In method defination, under tab Control radio button "Periodically in dialog process (short-running program)" is selected. I have created it as copy of CCMS_OnAlert_Email_V2.

Regards,

Abhay

Issue Solved.

@Divyanshu : No need to maintain RFC if you are not using ALM.

What I did is de-registered some of the agents, and reregistered them.

After that suddently all autoreactions started working.

Not sure about what was holding them back before .

Abhay

Thanks for reply Divyanshu, Amit,

Job SAP_CCMS_MONI_BATCH_DP is running hourly in system.

RFC and CSMREG user auth are correct.

In MoniInfra* node for Sapmssy8 is green for all app servers.

Regarding check via RZ03, can you provide some details. How to check here

(RZ03 and choose Utilities Diagnosis Cyclic System Prog)?

Abhay,

One this that strikes is ,have you configured SCOT (SAPconnect) in client 000 .Alerts auto-reaction are generated in this client .

If this is already done ,why not go through this KBA document checklist and might solve your issue.

1636899 - Setting up CCMS Auto-Reactions, and Analysing Issues

Thanks

SCOT is correctly configured.

As I said earlier, if I go to that alert and manually trigger autoreaction (EDIT -> Nodes -> Start Method - > Start Auto-reaction Method), I receive mails. S ono problem with mail setting.

Problem here is the alert status is not changing from ACTION_REQUIRED to ACTIVE, and hence no auto reactions get triggered.

I already checked note mentioned by you (Note 1636899 ). As per that also it talks abt dispatcher SAPMSSY8.

I went to RZ03 -> Utilities Diagnosis Cyclic System Prog

from here how to check if SAPMSSY8 is running or not. And if its not running how to start/schedule it?

Hi Abhay,

I have faced a similar issue and that was because of the central management system and the alert management.... That is why i think u should also check thi- the user, correct client, correct authorization and the RFC in SALRT1.

Hi Abhay,

You will get more information about SAPMSSSY8 status through CCMS self monitoring in RZ20 .

Follow the path rz20 ->SAP CCMS Technical Expert Monitors -> CCMS Selfmonitoring ->MoniInftr* and check node Sapmssy8.

Also check if job SAP_CCMS_MONI_BATCH_DP is running as you have local alerts setup

Hi abhay,

Two thing to check....

1st For SAPMSSY8 - Start transaction RZ03 and choose Utilities Diagnosis Cyclic System Prog

2nd check job SAP_CCMS_CENSYS_DISPATCHER
