Cannot change entitlements on the global level

I am trying to enable HANA trial on my CF account and got stuck with entitlements.

As I got it from this blog, the new way of managing consists of viewing/changing on subaccount tab and service tab, the former allows to edit and the latter only to view. However, in the current dashboard implementation I don't see such menu and see two sub-menu of entitlements: Entity assignments and Service assignments.

in the service assignments I see HANA cloud service but cannot edit quota, es expected.

but in the Entity assignments I see no HANA trial service by subaccount and cannot assign it. I see inconsistency here

What to do? Can I assign/enable HANA trial for my subaccount/space?

Hi Pavel,

Service Assignments show the services assigned to your global account. For a commercial account (enterprise) this is whatever you or your enterprise have signed up for; also shows the quotas (how much). For a trial account this is whatever SAP has made available as trial. You can ignore the "limited" labels.

Entity Assignments (subaccount assignments would have been a better term) show what entitlements are assigned to a particular subaccount. A subaccount maybe with AWS in the US, Azure in EUR, etc.

What you need to do:

  1. in the header is select a subaccount [Go]
  2. [Configure Entitlements]
  3. [Add Service Plan]
  4. select SAP HANA Cloud entitlement, select plan: hana [Add Service Plan]
  5. [Save]

Next, you can enter the subaccount (Org), enter the space (e.g. dev), and go to SAP HANA Cloud: [create instance]

Yes, it perfectly answers my question, thanks. I missed the service plan step. In my opinion "Add service plan" name is not intuitive and one can consider this button is not related to entitlements.

For those signing up to the SAP HANA Cloud trial that are new to the SAP Cloud Platform, this is configured automatically. Those who already have a Cloud Platform trial account, need to perform the steps manually. It is not very intuitive, I agree.

Also note that there are two s services.

  • SAP HANA Schema and HDI Container (trial) - for the SAP HANA Service (obsolete)
  • SAP HANA Schema and HDI Container - for the SAP HANA Cloud

If you are not using SAP HANA Service, you might as well delete the HDI (trial), to avoid more confusion.
