cal instance is not accessible from external network

Hello All,

I am trying to access the soamanager URL : (My cal instance : IDES)
http://i.p:8000/sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/appl_soap_management?sap-language=EN?sap-client=800
but it is not reachable from my laptop.

When i give the same URL on the RDP, it works.

I added the i.p and the hostname with complete domain to my local hosts file but no luck.

Any suggestions?

Your hosts file should be adjusted according section "3. Accessing solution" of the Getting Started Guide for your solution and that will solve your issue.

I tried the same URL from my personal laptop and the same error.

The ides soamanager URL does not work from local browser. The same works on RDP.

but S4 soamanager URL works from my laptop browser.

I tried telnet to both and the connection failed for both.

S4 is licensed. Does it make a difference?

Hello,

Most probably you are behind a corporate firewall that blocks the access. I recommend to test with telnet <IPAddress> 8000 from your laptop.
