CAB Label Printer & SAP Adobe Forms (SFP) - what is special to note?

Hello,

we are moving from SAP R/3 to S/4 HANA these days and we finaly wanted to change our label design from SMARTFORMS to SAP Adobe Forms.

We already know that we should create a printer (output device) using device type LB_CAB (SPAD) and that we have to administer XDC Files for SAP Device Types (Report RSPO0022) / here: cab300.xdc ✔

But still we are facing problems like:

  • font errors
  • barcode is using (not wanted) clear text
  • label size is not recognized by printer (cab SQUIX 4)
    >> printer/label does not stop an label gap / sensor

So the question is:
are there any recommendations / usual design specifications when creating a label with SAP Adobe Forms

than there were in SMARTFORMS:
[...]
S l1;0.0,0.0,42.0,45.0,84.0
m m
J
H 50,D
O R

Update: meanwhile we had contact with vendor (cab support) and they had told us, that one must care about XDC File depending on which printer model you want to use

in our case we had to change the SAP Default in case of SENSOR and in case of rotation of the labels
the font could be changed in SFP (SAP Adobe Forms Designer)

So the answer is: contact vendor support and ask for advice

example attached
Durchlichtsensor = transmitted light sensor
