BW4HANA Shell Conversion-Source System Note Implementation

Dear SAP experts,

We are currently working on Shell Conversion of current SAP BW 740 SP13 system into BW4HANA 2021 system.

Scenario: Source system ECC R/3 system and EWM system which are also getting upgraded into S/4HANA system with embedded EWM.

Doubt: Need clarification on which system the Source system notes(as per Snote2383530) should be implemented. It should be in old ECC R/3 system or in post upgraded S/4HANA system.

Notes: we have few Standard Datasources are getting deprecate when ECC R/3 system is upgraded into S4HANA system.

Appreciating the response from experts who have come across such scenarios in their prev projects.

Hi Rejin, the source system notes should be implemented in your "old" ERP system - the one connect to your actual BW system from where the Shell Conversion will run. The xml file with the notes (Source_System_for_SAP_BW4HANA_[last_update].xml) should be implemented in all connected SAP source systems (ERP, SCM, etc.) being used for data loads to BW .
