Hi experts,
I have so far mainly worked on BO built on SAP BW and its authorizations, but now I am facing a client using other databases as source of the Universes. All universes are .unx (Universe Design Tool) and they want to use AD to restrict authorization. When building on top of SAP BW we can import auth objects to restrict the data in the reports. How is this done when the source is not SAP BW?
An example:
We have a Webi report that will be run by all of the business, but the user should only see their own data. IN this case it is Care Unit, and a user could be connected to several care units. I want to setup an Authorization object based on Care Unit.
Report 1) The user can only see its own Care Units.
Report 2) The user are allowed to see all data, specified by all Care Unit.
Important is that it is the same user, but accessing two different reports, where one is restricted by Care Unit, but the other report is not.
Please advice,
Regards, Sofie H
It is possible to create multiple domain groups (AD) and import them and their user members to BusinessObjects. You then just need to apply universe restrictions to the groups.
