ALERT management - emails not working

I am trying to put alerts into operation. I managed to receive an alert using the alert inbox. I trigger alerts either with a function call SALRT_CREATE_API or I connect it with the BOR event. Till this point, everything works with no error.

But I do not understand why I don't receive emails. It is a default option in alert personalization and users I am sending mails to have their emails correctly set in SU01. Mails should be seen in SOST.

I was looking for solutions, documentation on the web but unsuccessfully. Maybe there is an additional configuration needed or a way how to debug.
