AfO: value in prompt not displayed in filter

Hi experts,

Trying to solve this: an end-user enters a Fiscal Year value at the prompt.

Then, next to the result in Excel, he adds a filter by going to "Analysis Design" -> Filters -> Fiscal year

Filter for Fiscal Year shows up but does not display the value entered in the prompt.

See attachment: afo-prompt-filter.jpg

Any idea why ?

Thx for shedding some lights here.

Brgds,
Ol

Hello ograndhenry

Filters added under Characteristic Restriction of Query designers become global filter and do not show up for change. Once set they can not be changed from inside workbook during run time. To change them you have to go back to prompt again. This is by design.

You will notice the same behavior when you add Prompt value for such filter and then in AO add the same field under "Display" > "Filters". Previously selected values will not show up.

If you want users to have this option available, then move fiscal year field from Characteristic Restriction to Default Value to characteristic

Hope you find this info helpful.
