Adding new InfoObject in large InfoCube

Dear All,

I need to add new InfoObject in the very large InfoCube (around 2.6 bilion records). I don't need the field to be updated for previous dates, only to be populated from the day of the transport on production? Is this advisable and do you have any similar experience before? What is the estimated time of transfering this development, do you think it will last too long?

Hello Simeon,

I think the runtime depends on the Infocube Dimension Table in which you inserted this Infoobject.

Even if you have 2.6 billion records in total, maybe your dimension table contains only some hundred thousands of combinations?

I think the most important thing is to drop all indices and rebuild them after the import.

Do you also have a Quality system, where you could test it once?

Thank you for your answer. Actually, we are trying to add KeyFigure. We do have test environment and we are arranging the transport there so we will see the results.
