A few question about the SAP Cloud ALM

Hi. I read that the solman will no longer be supported after 2027. Now I would like to connect three local SAP systems to the ALM. That has worked so far. But I can't find any answers at SAP to a few questions that I'm now asking myself.

1) How do I configure my alerts? For example when monitoring the SM21.

2) Can I no longer monitor the host? For example the memory area? What about the Ext. Mem.?

3) How do i create email groups so that i can assign an alert to a group?

4) How will I send my system data to the MaintenancePlanner in the future?

for the colleagues who will later read these questions. once the health monitoring is set up, you can set limits for the monitoring. also for the extended memory. I couldn't see the health monitoring because I didn't have the latest STPI installed. the rtcctool didn't notice it either.

Hello Denis,

In regard to your comment:

You are correct. At this time you cannot create notification groups.
However on the alert itself you can add multiple recipients as a workaround.

Cheers!

Paul

Hi Dennis,

did you already check the Expert Portal for Operations

Your question about the host is answered here.

Notification options are included here.

Hope this helps!

Hallo Denise,

maintenance of e-mail distribution lists is a service usually provided by the mail service provider. In Cloud ALM you can use personal e-mail addresses and distribution lists as notification recipients.

Hope this helps!

but that is a step backwards to the solman. the monitoring deactivates itself at night. anything but good for productions. the solman was more intuitive and not as vulnerable.

and by the way, the health monitoring says that no data is being received. and that for days. I can't find anything about it in the SAP notes. maybe I have to wait another year.

hi amo.

thank you for your help. i could get the data by updating the STPI to lvl 21.
Now i see that i can set limits for monitoring!

Do you know how i can get my system data to the maintenance planner without lmdb?

Hey denny-k I'm glad you have your data in CALM

regarding your question , if it's NOT related to CALM, you can upload systems data with XML (never done that b4)

if it's related to CALM... I'll present it in the 5th April call , you should join 🙂

amontella96 , do you know if you can create an email alert as soon as an on-premise system is not available? Everything goes so far, but I can't find that option.

hey denny-k out of the blue, i don't know how to achieve that . There s a mention of availability monitoring in Synthetic User Monitoringin but it suppose that your managed object is exposed in internet, which i bet is not the case for your on-prems...

I'm wondering if i can do some workarounds like one system ping another and raise an error log that you can capture in SM21 monitoring OR a job monitoring for a job that must be active every , like , 5minutes or so?

Lastly , guess what , i'll present your question in 5th april call if you are not around 😉

cheers!A
