"No data exists for the selection made" Warning in Prod APO System

Dear Experts,

We are transferring data from IBP to APO BW infocube, and then - from the cube to a planning area.

Every time one or two job variants finish with warning "No data exists for the selection made" but in fact it is not a warning but an error as the jobs do not transfer the records from the cube to the planning area!

After this warning, I manually rerun the variants and this time they transfer all the records without mistakes.

This is what I have found about this warning message:
==========================================
"No data exists for the selection made (see long text)

Message no. /SAPAPO/MA401

Diagnosis

Data could not be loaded from the Cube for the selection you made. Check whether the Cube actually contains data that is relevant for your selection.

If data does exist, check that all the time characteristics of the Cube are filled. If not, the program does not return data since it always uses all the time characteristics of the Cube when making selections.

Procedure

If the problem is caused by unfilled time characteristics, you have to fill them or remove them from the Cube. Procedure for System Administration"
==========================================

So I have checked several times and all time characteristics in the cube are fine, also the time series of the target planning area, so I cannot figure out what is wrong.

I have changed the time of the process chain run several times, supposing the problem is due to a lack of enough available system resources. Indeed, when I run it at 19 CET only one or 2 variants fail, while when I run it later - at 21 CET - when also CIF jobs and SNP planning runs, the failed variants are more.

I also recreated the most often failing variants but with no positive result.

Has anyone experienced the same problem? Do you think it might be related to insufficient system resources? Or might it be related to cube in which IBP data are loaded...?

Many thanks and kind regards,

Hi Radina,

This error can happen if the time characteristics of the cube are filled incorrectly. Could you please check the oss note

2710520 - Data not found when loading from infocube to planning area

Dear Sasi,

Yes, I read the documentation before asking this question, and of course I checked this already, and there are no inconsistencies. Plus, when I run the failed job 15 minutes later manually, it finishes successfully, so the problem is not related to the time characteristics in the cube.

Thanks a lot!
