We are experiencing a substantial number of Excel planning view favourites corrupting and crashing Excel when you attempt to open them. Often we can fix the views by sharing them with another user in Content Administration, they can then often open the view, add it back as a favourite under a new name and then share it back to the original user. This is obviously a pain and we have examples where even this fails and the only option is to recreate the view from scratch. We have tried clearing the metacache data but this has never actually resolved one of these issues for us. We have a corporate wide system for keeping Excel upto date (usually not the very latest version but certainly a recent version - within a year of current). We also ensure the add-ins are kept upto date, again typically between 6 months and a year old.
Does anyone else in this community experience similar issues? Does anyone have any additional fixes or even better anything that can prevent the errors.
We have about 100 active users most of whom create their own views, we probably get 2 reported corruptions a months and maybe 2 a quarter that cannot be fixed.
