Localized Resources x user's language settings: not working

Hi SAP Sourcing colleagues,

I understand that for SAP Sourcing localized resources, the system attempts to display the version of the string that matches the end user's language settings.

However, I am working with SAP Sourcing 10.0 and I am facing some problems with Localized Resources.

I have created a localized resource for a “Contract Document Phase” value list value but when I log on in English for example, I do not see the value added for such language.

>>> LOCALIZED RESOURCE:

Bundle:               srmsol

Resource ID:      vlv.007.custom_002.name

Resource Kind:   Application Text

Default Value:     Área Requisitante

                          [X] Custom

Value Override:

Locale-Specific Entries

Language: English

Country:

Value: Petitioner Area

>>> EXPECTATION:

I still see “Área Requisitante” in the contract document phase even when I log on in ENGLISH. I expect the value “Petitioner Area” would be displayed instead of “Área Requisitante”.

Would you please help me?

Best Regards, Sheilla

Hi

My two cents about his because we faced the same behavior (We are implementing CLM 10 as well).

English is the default system language meaning to create Entries in English is completely useless.

You just need to create entries for non-English languages and you have to override/create the default value with English translation.

Hi Sheilla,

Did you add the translation for the Localized Resource that you created in the language that expect to see it in?  When you add a Localized Resource, you always have to add the related translations for each of the languages that you  are using.  Have you done that?  The system will not do this for you automatically.  Our standard labels and resources are translated for each of the language packs supported by SAP for this product and installed by our customers.  But when you add a custom resource, then you have to translate that resource into the languages that you need to see them in.

I hope this helps,

Rosemary

Hi Rosemary Boisclair,

Thanks for your replay.

Please, take a look in my previuos message. I described how the localized resource was customized. Could you please check it?

It is OK to use "esource Kind:   Application Text", right?

Thanks again.

Sheilla
